Terra Digital Audio has released their second effort on protools’ DAW devices, the first was the M6R computer that was released in 2005. This new model, the Terra Digital Audio MX2, that is supposed to be able to run more than twice plugins than actually won the Grammy for Technical Achievement. The Terra Digital Audio MX2 features Quad core processor (two 2.66GHz dual Xeon processors), ATI Radeon X1300 PCI-e 256MB graphics board with dual monitor support, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 320GB hard drive, Plextor 16x dual-layer DVD-RW drive, 6-channel AC97 on-board audio card, 2 Firewire and 8 USB 2.0 ports and Gigabit LAN card. Almost all the components can be upgraded using the Terra configurator (options include 4GB of DDR2 RAM, more hard disk storage, faster processors or displays). This DAW is available in desktop (MX2-T) and rackmount (MX2-R) versions and comes with a specially configured for Protools Windows XP (with SP2) version. The price of the Terra Digital Audio MX2 is $2,499.
